Home M3AAWG Blog M3AAWG5: Prioritizing Platform & Infrastructure to Help “Harden the Stack”

M3AAWG will always commit to addressing harm at its root causes and swiftly adapting as online threats become more sophisticated.

With M3AAWG’s newly revised core values and evolved lineup of Priorities and Focus Areas, Platform & Infrastructure is the organizational priority best represented by our unwavering vow to stop abuse at its roots.

In our latest M3AAWG5 video series update, M3AAWG’s Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Sara Roper, returns to explore this priority, focusing on the underlying systems and environments exploited to facilitate abuse.

The Platform & Infrastructure domain is about more than just addressing abuse where it originates, scales, and evades detection; it also involves examining systemic weaknesses and patterns of infrastructure abuse.

“If the stack isn't hardened, we don't reduce the baseline opportunities for abuse,” Sara said. “We remain reactive, constantly triaging symptoms instead of solving root problems.”

Please watch the full discussion below for the entire Platform & Infrastructure story. As a friendly reminder, M3AAWG’s four newly named Priorities are as follows:

  • Communications & Content (the subject of last week’s M3AAWG5 video)
  • Platform & Infrastructure
  • User & Endpoint (video coming next week)
  • Policy & Regulations (video coming in two weeks)
