Our multipart M3AAWG5 video series rolls on this week with a deep dive into one of the top organizational priorities here at M3AAWG: Communications & Content.
With M3AAWG’s newly evolved Priorities and Focus Areas in place, four priorities have been identified to ensure a clear organizational direction moving forward:
- Communications & Content
- Platform & Infrastructure
- User & Endpoint
- Policy & Regulations
Last week, in this video series, M3AAWG’s Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Sara Roper, introduced us to the acronym CLARITY and explained how it underscores M3AAWG’s freshly implemented values.
Sara returns this week to guide us on why Communications & Content -- or the abuse of message-based systems, where adversaries focus on deception, exploitation, and gaining unauthorized access through content -- has become such a vital priority.
“The goal is clear: secure the message layer and prevent abuse from reaching users through trusted communication channels,” Sara said. “This includes detecting, blocking, and mitigating abuse such as impersonation, payload delivery, content manipulation, or filter evasion tactics.”
We will be releasing one video per week on our updated priorities — stay tuned, as next week we will cover Platform & Infrastructure.
