M3AAWG Program Manager Description

Position Requirements:
Technical project management experience, good writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills are desired qualifications. A team player who can work well within a small group of additional staff. Must be flexible and adaptable to change. Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Survey Monkey essential. Ability to work remotely without day-to-day supervision and travel to 3 annual meetings is a must.

Compensation:
The person would be a M3AAWG Independent Contractor and not an employee. The compensation is hourly and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Expenses for attending all meetings are paid by M3AAWG.

Position Description:
The Program Manager will provide the organizations volunteer leadership with support of project management/admin functions, planning and support in order to assist them in moving their initiatives forward and deliver on outlined objectives. The Program Manager will work closely with other Program Manager(s) and the volunteer leaders. The Program Managers take day-to-day directions from the Executive Director. The Program Manager will report regularly to the Executive Director on organization progress and any operational issues or requirements. The Executive, as needed for support, shall define additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities include:
Organization:

  • Attend/participate in or lead conference calls for various/multiple committees/sigs/initiatives as needed.
  • Take minutes of these calls, follow up on action items and remind key participants of action items.
  • Maintain tracking sheets.

Attend the three yearly on-site meetings (2 in North America, 1 is international):

  • Pre Meeting preparation with committees/sig/initiatives, staff and Executive Director.
  • On site meeting logistic needs for committees/sig/initiatives, sessions and members.
  • Collect meeting presentations and Chairs reports during the meeting.
  • Post Meeting follow up with committees/sig/initiatives, member surveys, prepare/update reports.

Track document progress:

  • Follow up on process questions.
  • Assist champions move documents through the process
  • Ensure Document Process is followed.

Provide operational website support.

Other appropriate duties requested by the Executive Director or volunteer leaders as they support the mission of the organization.

Schedule of Work

  • Number of hours per week is ~20.
  • Two North America meetings per year are generally 6 days. Travel/arrive on Saturday evening. Work Sunday on meeting preparations and meeting is Monday – Thursday, travel home on Friday.
  • One International meeting per year is generally 7-8 days. Travel on Friday/Saturday. Work Sunday on meeting preparations and meeting is Monday – Thursday, travel home on Friday.
