Description: In this Engagement Session, Amanda De Luke (Higher Logic) and Laurin Weissinger (M3AAWG Expert Advisor) will speak to vendor-independent Certifications in privacy and security. Amanda will focus on privacy certifications by the IAPP, while Laurin will discuss ISC2 and ISACA certifications predominantly.
Amanda and Laurin will look at certifications together, addressing questions such as: What types of certifications exist in security and privacy? For whom do certifications make sense, at what time, and for what end? Which roles and organizations can benefit from having people do certifications? Are certifications worth the time and money investment? How long does one need to prepare? How should one prepare; what options are out there? Are the exams difficult? How important is experience?
