Intimate Partner Violence in a Digital Age with Erica Olsen, Safety Net Project Director with The National Network to End Domestic Violence

Do you know how easy it is for some abusers to track their victim’s every move, to monitor everything they do on a computer, in their cars, or online? Perpetrators of stalking and domestic violence are often ahead of the curve on the use of technology and are using it to facilitate abuse and harm against survivors. Understanding how technology is misused is crucial to both supporting victims and holding offenders accountable.
This training will illustrate the safety risks of various technologies. Presenters will discuss (1) ways technology is misused to stalk, abuse, or harass survivors; (2) how service providers can help victims assess the abuse that’s happening; and (3) offer technology safety planning strategies.
